Anyone of a good place to stay in Port St. Joe? I'm thinking cabins...we have 4 pre-adolesent boys. We want to fish, kayak, just hang out...our vacation away from Santa Rosa Beach.
Also considering Itchatucknee River

They do have cabins at the state park on Cape San Blas but they are pretty basic. Cape San Blas, however, is wonderful! Secluded, good fishing and scalloping, in season. Mexico Beach might be another alternative. Ah, the beaches of my childhood...

My perfect beach
We haven't been out that way in about 3 years, but unless things have changed in the past couple of years, those cabins book up a year in advance, as soon as they come online. Very quiet place to stay. Our son was thrilled to pick up a horseshoe crab the size of a platter. And fiddler crabs by the hundreds. Have you looked at St. George Island, also in the area?

If you're looking for a good restaurant try That Place on 98. It's not too far (by my standards anyway) but it's not w/in walking distance either.

Me and the boy ate there in March and loved their fresh seafood.
