:yikes:You might be able to buy one on a plane, but I bet taking one on board a plane would be tough. Now I know what to get SWGB for his birthday:funn:

I'll settle for a gift certificate. ;-)

Now to derail the thread even further (sorry!)... I saw this for the first time today:

A Canadian musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines. United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar ($3500) during a flight. Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar. During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for youtube exposing their lack of cooperation. The Manager responded : "Good luck with that one, pal".
So he posted a retaliatory video on youtube. The video has since received almost 6 million hits and been featured on CNN. United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video. Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal".
Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for the product recognition from the video that has lead to a sharp increase in orders. Here's the video ....

I'd like to see someone do the same kind of thing with the health insurance companies, the drug companies, the financial institutions, etc. etc. lying, cheating politicians... Maybe there is a way for the regular person to prevail...in spite of the SC judges.;-)

Our local newspaper features local homes each Sat. Most of us would prefer an older home remodel or a creative new construction. Today's again featured a big, new, cathedral ceiling, suburban house, 4,000 square feet, 5 bedrooms. Owner is retired SVP from Pharmamerica. I am so thrilled to see his big retirement home. Apparently the headquarters is in Louisville now. They moved from Florida.

On NPR recently I heard the 'innocent' beginnings of our health insurance monstrosity back in the 20's or 30's. Baylor U started it. Noticed women were willing to pay $0.50 or so for makeup each month, so they would probably pay something for medical visits. During the war, to attract workers, health benefits were offered. Now, because someone will pay for it, too many people go health shopping and have alot of tests and take a lot of meds. (I know it is very brief, but if true, interesting beginning.)
