New signs on the Prominence property that say Coming Soon, Emerald Homes.

Any insight as to who this is or what kind of product will be built?

The Emerald Homes website said "A Division of DR Horton Homes", and that's about all.

Does anyone know about the Grace Point Resort sign posted at the west end of the Prominence property? The sign lists Comer Group and Woodbridge Capital. Did Horton sell some land to the Comers of Alys fame? Couldn't find anything on county records of a sale.

Yes, Comer Group is Jason of Alys Beach.

Glad to hear someone from Alys Beach is going to have a part in some of the development. Id assume he would want something with the quality Alys Beach is known for.

Not bashing DR Horton but to keep it real, they are just concerned with quantity over quality. Fthe most part, they build a solid product but I wouldnt put it on the same level as Rosemary, Seacrest, Alys or Watersound.

I've kept an eye on it - good thread here for history:
http://www.sowal.com/bb/showthread.php/19963-What-s-Up-at-Prominence

The Walton County Technical Review Committee approved changes to the 79-acre development at request of D. R. Horton. Prominence has land on south AND north sides of Highway 30A.

Residential units reduced from 650 to 625.
120 room hotel deleted.
5,000 sf spa deleted.
200,000 sf of retail changed to 75,000 sf commercial.
12 bed anbd breakfast rooms will remain.

I would much rather drive to Publix in PCB for the selection and price, which would have to be much better than any local grocery. Who would do their daily shopping at Tom Thumb, Texaco station or Modica unless money is no object?
