Short of putting property up for sale at auction and selling to the highest bidder, what is an accurate way to get an assessment of property value in the existing south walton market? Hire an appraiser? Use the CMA's of a Realtor? Is it possible to get an accurate assessment when so little has sold in the past six months? Recommendations?

Be very careful at this stage of the game. Appraisal fraud was allowed to run rampant during the boom (when no one cared and everyone was a winner). Now, that the party is over, the dark and ugly details are coming to the fore: With stories like this
