I don't think these are the sliced white (normal) mushrooms in the little blue styrofoam thingie with the shrinkwrap. At least I am hoping they aren't. We ate those Saturday night, and I ate extra because the Squirt picks them out of his food and gives them to me.

Since I am suddenly nauseous, I am going to pretend I didn't see this.

It's one type of the "exotic" mushrooms that are being recalled - ShallowsNole, you are fine if you ate the white sliced mushrooms!

Yep those are specialty. Don't worry shallows it couldn't be the ones you ate. The press release says frail or elderly are affected.

The common mushrooms are simple button mushrooms. Listeria is in a lot of stuff (hotdogs, especially) at low levels deemed not to be a health hazard. These must have exceeded the allowance.

That's one reason why pregnant women are not supposed to eat hotdogs according to my sis-in-law.

If most people knew what was allowable in hotdogs, the industry as a whole would go down the toilet!

Most of that is urban legend - it's scrap MEAT, not the items people claim are in there ala Upton Sinclair.

I believe he is referring to FDA allowed levels of things such as bugs, rodents, and fecal matter.

Oh look it plumps when you cook it!

That's true of all processed meats and foods, not just hot dogs.

We eat several pounds of bugs a year in processed flour alone.
