Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Hi:

We'll be coming to Seacrest Beach Feb 18 - 25. We heard there's red tide far away near St. Petersburg and it is likely to be confined to that area. Any signs of red tide along 30A or nearby? We're hoping to spend lots of time on the beach and some family members want to fish (we've never done that but may try this trip).

By the way, this board is very helpful...

Thanks much,
Paula

Haven't seen red tide in August

Hi:

We've been to Seacrest Beach the past two Augusts and haven't seen red tide on either trip. So, it must be a relatively unpredictable occurrence and ideally not a given at any time of the year. We'll be there in July this year.
Best,
Paula

I'm kinda worried. I was here when the Red Tide was pretty bad last year. It surprised me, bacause I had never heard of it before and it hit me hard. Well, I just moved to Seagrove and with the strong winds the other day, came problems with my breathing and sinuses. I certainly hope it is just a coincidence and I just have a little unrelated cold, but I'm a bit worried. This area is paradise, no doubt, I just hope that my allergies aren't too sensitive to live here.
