Reed Waddle is another local singer/songwriter that will be playing live at Amavida Seaside on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. Great acustics, crepes, organic coffee, organic wine and beer, desserts, hummus plates, and cheese plates!
Reed graduated from the University of Florida in September of 2004. Upon leaving Gainesville he completed his third CD in less than three years. This Paperback Town backed by his band, 13th Street Special, captured a rapidly maturing young artist and won critical acclaim. In late 2005 Reed was an ASCAP awards plus recipient in recognition of his "unique prestige value of his catalog of compositions." His song Amsterdam was featured on the Travel Channel?s Not Your Average Travel Guide televised nationally and hosted by director Shayne Reynolds.
In 2007 Reed's song I Saw Stars was selected as one of 20 finalists in the inaugural American Idol Songwriter Competition, chosen from over 25,000 entrants nationwide. He signed a publishing deal with 19 Entertainment, Idol's management and musical powerhouse. After touring colleges across the U.S., Reed has been recording his newest release "Piece by Piece" in Aspen, joined by Oates and produced by Jamie Rosenberg at his new Great Divide Studios. It will be released in the summer of 2008 followed by an east coast tour in the fall.
