Resources for kids/families living with Down syndrome?

Hi friends,

We are considering a move to 30a and our youngest child is 5 years old and has Down syndrome. She is perfectly healthy and only needs typical medical care.

I am curious if there is a community of Ds families in the area and if so, what resources you have found to be useful.

My daughter is 13 with DS and goes to Emerald Coast Middle School - previously she attended Butler Elementary. We have been here for 5 years. I am also the finance chairperson for Special Olympics Walton County which we have recently re-established (go to http://www.specialolympicswalton.org if you have time).
