Hi, our family is staying in the Grayton Beach area next week. We have two children, ages 1 and 3. Please provide restaurant recommendations. We like Mexican, Italian, Seafood, Japanese, etc... I can't think of anything we don't really like except Chinese.

We have been to Grayton before and have eaten at Red Bar, Old Florida Fish House, Angelina's, Another Broken Egg and the Donut Hole. I am sure we will revisit some of these, but we would love more ideas. We usually go out to breakfast and dinner and either make lunch at our house or get take out. All suggestions are appreciated except fancy/nicer restaurants. We don't take the kids to those kinds of restaurants. We don't mind traveling a little for a good meal, especially if the kids will like the food and the atmosphere. They are both great distractions. Thank you.

Very kid friendly and the fish is delicious. If you want dining recs, sit down for a while and read through the posts in this forum; you'll get a ton of good ideas about where to eat in SoWal.

Since you mention breakfast, the Red Bar now has breakfast from 7 to 10 daily. You already know the Red Bar, it's great for kids, who cares if someone is kind of loud? The prices are good, two eggs and toast, $4 and the portions are generous.
Oli needs to post a menu.

In Destin, Silver Sand Breakfast at Harbor Docks (we think it is better quality and value for the $$ than Donut Hole) and lunch at Harbor Docks (dinner is a little more pricey and might be a little less child friendly). Dewey Destin's - eat outside - lots of scenery to keep the little ones occupied - great food, cheap prices and nice people.

unfortunately the link that was provided earlier: http://www.destin-ation.com/seaside_restaurants.html is VERY outdated at least 14 of the restaurants listed are closed and at least 2 have moved.

For a more up to date website please check out www.30a.com

The two that moved and are worth checking out are Shades (now at Inlet Beach) and Hurricane oyster Bar (now in Grayton, just north of 30A). Shades ahas a much better establishment than their Seaside location, but it a little farther away and pricd a little higher.
Hurricane will be better for your kids, I have two and they love the kids burger as well as the kids fish taco. Check out their menu at www.hurricaneoysterbar.com.

I do agree that Pizza by the Sea is worth checking out for a pie while you are down here and the Red bar is fun for people of all ages.
Another Broken Egg is overpriced, but Hibiscus has wonderful breakfast in a beautiful setting.
Stinky's is also doing a good job and had a great catfish meuniere poboy... it can get sloppy though.

And as much as I hate to do it... Pier Park is worth a trip over for one day... lots of shopping and plenty of choices for food. It is just so hard to leave 30 A when you come down to paradise. but it is alot easier to get there than to battle the traffic going to Destin.

Have a safe trip and enjoy your visit!!http://www.30a.com

Definitely check out Amore. The patio is great, and the place is VERY kid friendly. Prices are reasonable, and the food is AWESOME!

On Friday nights they usually have live music which my kid loves because they can get out and dance!
