as some of you know, my parents are retiring - my pop's last day was today, mom's last day is next friday. the shop they work for had a very nice retirement party for them tonight. he was there 47 years, mom has been there 46. here are a few pics, not too good, but the best i could do after 3 long island iced teas.

i think they were both so overwhelmed with seeing everybody, there was over 100 people there. they had a nice appetizer hour (can't spell the fancy term ) and then a nice buffet dinner. every said such awesome things about them. there was a video of the people at work saying goodbye to them and telling stories about their years together. then they made a video with pictures of family and people who they had worked with over the years. the shop gave them a really nice video camera which mother will get lots of use out of. then mom and pop each got up there and said few words, but started getting all misty so they cut it short.
...I got a little misty, too. How wonderful! I love those videos! What a great tribute...better than a gold watch. ;-)
