Right here!
Multimillionaire health care executive Rick Scott narrowly captured the GOP?s nomination for governor of Florida Tuesday night, shocking both Republican and Democratic insiders who believed the free-spending newcomer?s fortunes had taken a sharp turn for the worse in the final weeks of his campaign against state Attorney General Bill McCollum.

It's the year of the outsider, but Rick Scott? This guy carries a lot of baggage, and he's going up against a strong moderate democrat with good business and fiscal background.

Certainly will be a fascinating race. Somebody sell me on this guy.

He is doing his best to "buy" the office--IMO there was not even a good "lesser of two evils" choice there--too bad the Rs could not have found a better candidate.:sarc:

Alex Sink is the better candidate!
She is intelligent, has integrity, has a good track record; and has the best interests of the citizens of Florida as her agenda. She'll make a fantastic governor.

I know nothing about Alex Sink, but I will vote for anyone other than Rick Scott. How can people be so duped? I'm really disappointed in my fellow Floridians. The killer was the computer call from his wife that God was on his side. Aren't there references in the Bible about using religion for personal gain? Rick Scott thinks we're all pretty stupid especially those of us in NW Florida.

Yes, she is one of the few candidates that I can get excited about- and it is the "integrity" word that stands out with her. That word highlights the huge difference between her and Scott- as in, he doesn't have ANY integrity.

Of course she opposes off-shore drilling in Florida waters, so that is huge too.

I think you will be happy when you take a look at Alex. She has a good track record both in the private sector for 28 years and in government; most of all, she is a woman of integrity.www.alexsink2010.com.

I'm surprised that he won, but also believe that the win was a bonus for Alex Sink. He has/will polarize the State GOP and the moderate party members will either stay home or vote for her.

Ask any long-term HCA employee as to what they think of him. Ask how many HCA employees were "laid-off" after the record breaking fine by the feds. How do you think he was able to pay that fine, yet get his golden parachute. He should have been a jail bird, but was smart enough to have several fall guys.

I like Jeb and Charlie even though I do disagree with some of their concepts. Scott isn't even at the level of being close to the quality of of the scum on their shoes.

It really is the RPOF's fault for backing a thoroughly awful candidate in Bill McCollum far too early in the game. IMO, either Charles Bronson or a properly funded Paula Dockery would have run a much more effective and proactive campaign than the zombie-like McCollum, whose platform seemed to be 'hey, it's my turn to be governor, and I'll do whatever the RPOF tells me to'

Florida voters want a governor who seems good in a crisis. (Even Jeb!'s hardest critics will give him props for his leadership during the storms of 2004-05) And when the oil spill became an issue, Crist was photo-opping big time while working behind the scenes to try to get BP to pay out, Sink was lobbying to try to get help for small businesses, and McCollum was totally and utterly invisible when he should have seemed like he was a big part of trying to get help for Florida residents affected by the spill.

Oh yes...I think every state should have a white collar felon as their Governor. After spending 40 million plus of his own money to tout his gun craziness and belief in the sanctity of marriage, I bet he, even he, wants to keep the Bush tax cuts as is.

On the bright side, I always wanted to know what Fla. would have been like... in the late 1800's.

Being a registered republican, I could not pull the trigger for Scott or McCollum. Both are terrible choices, and I think their negative campaigns shows much about them. I could not tell you the first thing about the third choice, but he go my vote based on the losers Scott and McCollum. Scott reportedly spent $50 million on negative campaigning, and much of it was his own money. Anyone wanting any position badly enough to pay millions, should be as far from office as we can block them. I will be learning much more about Alex before November, but she already has my vote.

Meeks also scares me in the Senate Race, but Jeff Greene spent so much money on his race that he scares me more. Charlie has shown his flip-floppedness recently, and doesn't really stand for anything. Rubio will be my choice unless something changes.
