I never hear any mention of the restaurant here. Does anyone have any experience with it? Is it worth trying?

JB - I've only had lunch there which was good. I don't doubt you would enjoy it. One of the best views on the coast - go at sunset.

A lot of people like it for dinner. They are under the radar a bit.

Well, as we will have our baby with us for the first time (he'll be 11 months in May), we are looking for more family-oriented spots. Even if it was just wifey and I, it is still someplace I have always wanted to try.

Thanks for info.

I think the food is so-so, but I come from the restaurant industry, so I may expect more when I think of a Club. Lunch and Dinner menus offer nice selections, but unless things have changed, they are not open to the public on Fri and Sat evenings. If going there for lunch, I recommend a burger served poolside overlooking the Gulf. I find the service there to be pretty good, especially for this area. The staff is sincere, and that goes a long way.

It is under the radar, perhaps having to do with their status of a "semi-private" club, which may limit advertising.

The view alone surpasses any blandness which I find in the food.

The food isn't spectacular, but is probably fine with things like burgers, salads, omelettes. The setting makes up for it. We find it one of the prettiest settings on the beach and the service is very friendly. Be sure to call ahead, however, because they are not open for all meals on all days and some times are reserved for members only. Many private parties there, as well. It is an especially nice place to take Mom on her special day.

A great alternative, albeit a somewhat longer drive, is The Crab Trap over in Destin on Old Highway 98. The view is gorgeous, although not quite as private a beach. But we always enjoy watching the kids playing on the beach and checking out the photos of old hurricane damage and photos of monster fish that some sunburned Bubba caught!
