Scenic 30A closed from 83 to 283: 3/1-14, 2010: Mon-Sat 7AM-7PM

Dont guess they gave any explanation for this "oh so convenient" closure? Maybe to up the traffic count at the 98/331 intersection for that first week of spring break? ..

There is a half marathon running through there right in the middle of this. I'm just wondering if there could have been a better time, like during the past 3 months when we had very few visitors. You know, as opposed to the first two weeks that spring breakers start coming back.
331 is making me crazy enough, living at the corner of Traffic Cone and Tractor without the benefit of a turning lane has been very frustrating. I'm thinking they move the cones just to mess with us several times a day. Hope 30A gets done quickly.

The road will be open at night and on the weekends. During the day the big crane you see near the Redfish bridge will be on 30A driving in big concrete pilings for the new pedestrian bridge. I'm told the first closure will be on Monday at 7am.
Well, open at night and not happening until monday I can deal with.
Was already getting cranky about having to use 98 to get to Gulfplace for the yardsale saturday and not being able to get to Sally's.

Temporary Road Closure on CR30A at Big Red Fish Lake
(Monday thru Saturday, 7am to 7pm). Motorist and pedestrians will need to take alternate routes. No through traffic along CR 30A at Big Redfish Lake will be allowed during road closures.
Through traffic will be detoured to US 98 via CR 83 and CR 283. The road closures will be into effect until March 14, 2010, pending weather.

It is closed to through traffic. My understanding is that you can get in and out of homes along the area, you just can't get through 30A at the bridge over Redfish. So if you live east of the bridge you can go in and out via 30A and towards 283. If you live west of the bridge you can go in and out via 30A and towards 83.
Reminder - closed tomorrow.
Right Bridge, Wrong Time
It's a wonderful thing to get a new pedestrian bridge but this clearly should wait until next November after the wine festival. This was a bad decision to do this now. They should cease until November. Period. This hurts business; a lot of business.
