Hi,
My name is Hamp McGee. My father was C. H. McGee Sr., developer of
Seagrove Beach In the late 1940's. I also worked with him at that time
after being discharged from th US Navy at end of WWII.
I'm new to this site and I thought I saw a blog earlier entitled "Pictures of Seagrove from 1950", but I have been unable to bring thiose up.
I'm particularly interested since my wife Mittie and I spent several months of our first year of marriage at Seagrove in l950.
I worked on construction of the store building and several of the waterfront cottages before returning to Auburn to finish my studies.
I hope that someone can advise me as to how I can view those pictures.
Thanks,
Hamp

Welcome Hamp!

I'm new to this site as well, and we welcome you. Look forward to seeing some pics from the earlier times in our beautiful area.

I can't seem to get the pictures of Seagrove on the old thread. Thanks for your help.

Hey, Hamp!

We own a second home in Seagrove, and I have read with interest the stories about your dad. Reminds me of my dad. We used to frequent PCB, and every time we went, he'd drive us all down 30A and say that he wanted to buy acreage there. To Mom and I, it was like driving off the face of the earth. We'd say, "Nobody wants to be out here in the boondocks!" But he had vision. He was about to invest in some acreage when he died from a heart attack.

Wish he had bought that property.

:welcome:
