Seaside Stolen Bikes

Warning
We had our 2 bikes locked together on Sun night near the Seaside town center. Some person cracked the lock and took 1 bicycle and left the other around the corner. Security said this is quite common and is usually kids taking a "joy" ride. There were bikes all around ours which were unlocked - crazy.

If you see a silver bike with a white seat, slightly rusted handle bars, and numbered 208, please reply to this post. The bike could have been rode and stashed anywhere in the area around Seaside.

Yep - SoWal is basically one big bike share - kids and adults just pick up the nearest bike. Most are unlocked and treated as disposable.

My little girl's bike was stolen Monday night from in front of our house in Seaside. Pink and white 20" with part of the Walmart price sticker still on the front reflector. I had just put a bell on it that she got from a friend for her birthday. Three other adult bikes were next to hers but untouched. Security told us it was probably kids just being mean. I rode around looking for it but no luck.

Hate this. We were at Seaside Town Center. 2 nice young boys were putting their bikes up. We told them that they
would be alright locking them together since there was rack space. We do it all the time.
We do lock our bikes when we are there, even we stop for 5 or one of us stays with the bikes while the other runs
into a store, etc.
We put our bikes on the screen porch of the house we rent but we haven't been locking them.
Might have to do start doing that.
We'll back next month.
