he "spaceship house" on Pensacola Beach is morphing into a museum.
"One of only 20 Futuro homes worldwide, the flying saucer-shaped dwelling perched atop a cinder-block launch pad has been a beach landmark for more than 30 years.
It draws attention from locals, tourists, design and sci-fi enthusiasts -- and especially children who look for the green alien heads propped in the home's oval windows, said owner Victoria Clarkin, 48.
After Hurricane Ivan struck in September 2004, Clarkin received thousands of e-mails from people worldwide interested in the fate of the odd structure at 1304 Panferio Drive.
"You wouldn't believe how crazy people are about that spaceship," she said. "In any given afternoon in the summer, I've counted up to 500 people who stop and take a picture of it."
