Sunday Brunch at the Beach

Fire-Pancakes.jpg

Sunday Brunch in SoWal is a time-honored tradition. We all love to get a group together and eat, drink, and talk before heading to the beach. It’s the time we recap the weekend, get off the computer or Smartphone, and just relax. Sundays Fundays start with brunch and end at the beach – and we couldn’t be luckier. We are still full from researching this SoWal List for you.

Restaurant Fire
Bottomless champagne is really all you need to hear, but the food will keep you coming back Sunday after Sunday. Forget the diet for a day and indulge in the Pancakes Du Jour, usually filled or topped with goodies like chocolate chips, ricotta cheese, nuts or fruits, and different homemade syrups. Get the Breakfast Wrap, Cajun Omelet, Huevos Ranchero Verde, or my all-time favorite, the Grits and Grillades with braised beef brisket, cream cheese grits, crispy onions, and a tomato jus – this one keeps me coming back. So many choices are available and you will never be disappointed with the service, food, and always-flowing champagne. Sunday brunch at Fire in Gulf Place is from 11-2 p.m.

Hibiscus Café

Relax in the Back Yard of Love and enjoy one of the many creative brunch dishes while listening to live music. This hidden gem located in Grayton Beach is a local favorite. Chef Colin creates a new menu every Sunday, which always has vegan and vegetarian options as well as items for the carnivore. So stop by and kick back in the Back Yard of Love. Hibiscus Café is open for brunch every Sunday from 11-2 p.m.

Marie’s Bistro

Marie’s Bistro in Blue Mountain Beach offers a brunch buffet from 10-2 p.m. every Sunday. Everything from eggs, quiche, meats, pancakes, French toast, salads, lunch items and more are available. Marie’s Bistro always has someone playing live music while you enjoy friends, family, and good food.

Great Southern Café
Stop by Great Southern Café in Seaside for brunch items that range from Eggs Benedict or Fried Green Tomato Benedict to Corn Beef Hash or Chicken Hash. Chill on the porch or inside and enjoy a drink from the full bar, including a homemade bloody mary or a mimosa. Brunch is available every Sunday from 11-2 p.m.

The Red Bar

Sunday Funday at The Red Bar in Grayton Beach is all about local favorite Dread Clampitt and good food and drinks. This year-round hot spot rocks out on Sundays. Locals line the boardwalk outside as they talk about the weekend, have some drinks, and get ready to go to the beach. Try the Belgian waffles, Eggs Benedict, or any of the regular lunch items for Sunday Brunch.

Stinky’s Fish Camp
Stinky’s in Dune Allen Beach is known for flavorful, fresh food and brunch is no different. The brunch menu is simple, short, and sweet with items like French Toast with Warm Maple Syrup and Fresh Berries, Three Egg Omelet of your choice, and my favorite, the Rock Star Crawfish Pie with two Sheared Eggs. Stinky’s is always the happening place and on Sundays, The Steenos play from 12-3 p.m. and get the place rockin’. Try a house made bloody mary with fresh pickled okra, green beans and even a shrimp! Brunch is from 11-3 p.m. every Sunday. Take the family or a group of friends and enjoy.

V Seagrove
Chef David Cunningham uses only fresh ingredients and the brunch menu is always changing. Try the local cornmeal waffle with homemade compound butter and local molasses syrup. The Market Omelet is different every week, such as the fresh crab and lobster omelet with a cheese fondue from last week. No matter what you choose, you will not be disappointed. Take the edge off with a made from scratch bloody mary or one of the other signature brunch cocktails. V Seagrove is open from 11-2 p.m. every Sunday for brunch - located on the northwest corner of CR 395 and Scenic 30A.

Bentley’s and Maddog’s 30A
Bentley’s in Seacrest Beach offers the full breakfast and lunch menu for Sunday brunch and every day for that matter. If you are looking to get a hamburger at 9:30 and your friends want breakfast, you have come to the right place. Beignets, crepes, biscuits and gravy or a steak sandwich, fried oysters, or Thai chicken salad and tons more are all available from 9:30 – 2:00p.m.daily. This unique menu makes sure everyone in your party gets what they want.
