Ya just got to just hunker down, for a spell, in front of the old trusty AC, just like it was a two month long Cat 2.

Hibernation mode in July and August due to crowds, traffic and heat. But it's kind of nice early mornings. Living bayside in the woods is always quiet and peaceful. But we do have more people building in the residential areas and more traffic. I miss the days where we could take an hour walk or bike ride in the neighborhood and never see a soul. Still a good place to call home.

Summer is when you have to plan your strategy for driving anywhere. We can handle it. Usually.

Or just go on and get in the middle of it all and have some fun. At the beach and in the restaurants, or events. Go on vacation for a day. Listen to live music. Toast the sunset on the beach. Explore Eden Gardens State Park. Swim in the Gulf. Eat oysters on the half shell. Drink beer in the sunshine. Then go back home til fall.

Good advice Teresa… however, just after I posted about hunkering down, I had to get in my truck and go to work. When I got to my first 30-A intersection where I had to look for cars coming from 3 directions and bicycles coming both ways on the bike path, a street bicyler, of the speedo variety, came out of nowhere, in the left lane, swerved in front of me into the bike path, just as I started to accelerate into traffic. I came within about a foot of killing him because of his stupidity. It’s a jungle out there.

Bicyclists are as bad or worse than golf carts. My wife and I walk every morning on a path along Scenic 98 and maybe one in fifty cyclists will announce they are approaching from behind. We have been nearly hit numerous times.

When I rode my bike I had a bell, that was your initial warning, after that the blast from my 140 decibel air horn usually got things moving.
