St. Joe Co. leaders reported a net loss of millions of dollars Tuesday, but simultaneously outlined plans of some of their Bay County property, including developing a new residential community and building a covered parking lot at the airport.

?Due to the recent market demands for a new master plan (for) Panama City Beach, next year we will break ground on Phase 1 of Breakfast Point, our 348-unit primary residential community,? said Britt Greene, president and CEO of St. Joe.

The Breakfast Point development includes 1,000 home sites in the $200,000 to $300,000 range; Phase 1 will include 348 lots. The development area sits near Breakfast Point Academy and the Breakfast Point Marketplace, which houses Publix, Home Depot and Dunkin? Donuts.

...the counter staff at Dunkin' Donuts are over the moon about Phase 1--they're downright giddy with anticipation over the shorter commute from their new homes to work.

Well since mortgages have gone backward beyond the point of being available to people who can actually afford them I guess I need a job at Dunkin' Donuts since they seem to be raking in the cash.

I know you guys like to joke about PCB but as we have discussed many times it is changing fast - right before your eyes if you only look. You may not like what it is becoming but a lot of folks will.

Agreed, Kurt.

The signs are already there. Pier Park. The whole development at 98 and Beckrich. The two nice new apartment complexes on the north side of 98(same name for both, sorry I've forgotten it). The continued growth at 98 and Front Beach, first Publix and now CVS.

Long-term, there has to be continued spinoff from moving the airport.
