Is Commodore's Retreat open for vacation rentals? Is there a lot of building going on?

They've had several rentals available since summer. Pool wasn't refurbished yet. Don't know if it will be this summer. We want to stay there again too. Sshhhh. Don't tell too many people . Ellen

I hear ya-UofL! I'm already looking for May. The rentals seem to be on the lower floors so far.

Hi, 2 on 3rd floor (4th level) also. They were still working on some of the interiors. Hate construction noise when on vacation even if we do get up early. I'm not a pool person but is nice to get in after a day at the beach especially if the water is a challenge. We thought about swinging by after Xmas so we aren't staying so long or paying so much. Depends on cost of bowl game trip.

Not to be a grump, but hey, it's my neighborhood. They have put some truly bright, PCB style lights up on the building. They light up the whole neighborhood. Wishing for some Watercolor-style downward directed lighting around here...

If those lights are permanent and that bright they are also probably NOT "turtle friendly". That building is on the beach so that will be very important to the county and the Walton County Turtle Watch. You can always contact the county and or the Turtle Watch and see where it goes from there. Remember, there is always something you can do so I suggest this would be a good place to start.
