We are in Seagrove, and hoping to have some good Mexican or Tex-Mex for our last night on the town. Any suggestions?

I like Don Pedro's. Nothing fancy, but the food is always well-prepared (with a nice emphasis on fresh produce) and cheap.

I can no longer find a good Tex-Mex in SoWal that remotely compares to Bone Garden or Nuevo Laredo in the warehouse district west of downtown ATL. There was one that was close, but now the food is wet and has little flavor.

So when we want Tex-Mex at the beach, we cook our own.

I agree that good TEX-MEX and SOWAL are mutually exclusive entities. I would say that the best in the area is at Cantina Laredo in Grand Blvd. They have excellent guacamole, Dos Equis on tap (yum), best margaritas in the area. Fajitas are above average, some of the other fare is just OK. It is a chain-pricey, lacking soul but consistent output. It will satisfy locals who need a flawed fix but you city slickers and Texans have no business eating TEX-MEX in SOWAL. Support one of our locally owned seafood spots.

I have a constant craving for La Cocina. Best salsa, cheese dip and chips ever. Love the entrees too. Outstanding margaritas. Prices are higher than an average mexican family restaurant, but not any higher than most 30A places. I will be there tomorrow and I just can't wait!

I like Don Pedros on occasion.

Love a few family mexican places in Destin (Pepitos) and Panama City (two or three good ones).

Cantina Laredo is probably the best in the area for a true restaurant. I would also recommend the El Mercandito (sp?) mexican grocery store. They have a small restaurant in the back that serves authentic mexican dishes and some excellent tamales.....
