South Walton Fire District:
LEAVE THE SHOWS TO THE PROS
Senate Bill 140 makes it legal for Floridians to set off real fireworks on three specific holidays: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and the Fourth of July. If you choose to set off fireworks in our community, we ask you remember the following:
We are surrounded by thousands of acres of forest and wildlife. Unfortunately, this environment can ignite due to a fireworks mishap.
SWFD does not have the authority to grant permission to shoot off fireworks on any public beach.
If you're using fireworks on any day other than the three listed above, you're breaking the law.
Fireworks will always be dangerous and can lead to serious injury or death.
"Leave the Shows to the Pros" this weekend by attending a fireworks display held by trained professionals. Here's a list of local events from our friends at SoWal to help find a display near you: Events
