I know this is a strange request, but here goes.

I seem to be having a reaction to my swimming pool water. I get a soar throat within hours of swimming.

Does anyone know of a swimming pool maintenance person who uses some type of natural product to maintain a pool?

The person I use now doesn't seem to believe this reaction. Plus, he is dropping the chlorine tablets in the return and my pool is very tiny. I don't know how to check the water myself.

Many thanks.

You can pick up a pool test kit at Walmart and it's pretty easy to do. Besides chlorine, the only other way that I know of to keep the pool clean is transfer over to a salt chlorinator. Not a cheap option, but I have friends that have this and love it.

You can use the test strips too, quicker than the actual kit and easy to read.

I took my water down to Destin Pools and had it tested. WAY high on chlorine.

Did you know they will take your water sample and test it for free? Then they give you a read out that has all your chemical levels on it and recommendations!!

We recommend Destin Pool Supply as well. My husband has saved us a lot of money by taking care of problems himself by going there. The most recurrent problem we have lately is renters breaking the weir which takes care of trapping bugs and debris from the pool surface. The pool looks nasty when that is broken, and the pool service seems oblivious to it.

I ended going with Gulf Pool service. Just a delightful guy, Craig. He realizes my poos is a special needs pool and is more than willing to work with me.

I can't convert to the salt filter for two reasons. Salt produced chlorine which I need to be away from. And it would cost a couple of thousands of dollars for the conversion,

Destin pools werer great. They tested the water again after we drained half the pool and the chlorine was still off the charts.

They recommend usint a produce called EZ Clean pool and it is not chlorine based.

Anyon heard of it? We are looking at it because it seems like a God sent product.

The most amazing thing is the old pool person I was complaining that there was too much chlorine came and serviced the pool and dropped yet another baseball sized chlorine tablet in the pool return basket. He wasn't even using the cnlorinator to control the release. I discarded the tablet.

Sad, I liked the old guy, but he was just unwilling to address my problems with the chemicals.

I'll be happy to share the new guys name and number, but would like to have a couple of weeks under my belt before I do.
