The Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K weekend kicks off in delicious style with Taste of the Race on Friday, February 28th. This annual showcase of South Walton’s unforgettable culinary style is a must-do for anyone interested in getting the most out of race weekend.
Tickets available online
Guests are able to sample culinary delights from the area’s top chefs and restaurants while enjoying live music and the company of fellow racers and local foodies. Chef Emeril Lagasse serves as the event’s host while his local restaurant, Emeril’s Coastal Italian, joins dozens of other local eateries filling up the event’s attendees. Fine wine, craft beers and spirits are complimentary at this ticketed event.
In addition to satisfying your taste buds, we will keep your dancing shoes busy with live music from the Bucktown All-Stars, a brass-driven New Orleans party band specializing in 1960s Classic R&B and Soul, ’70s Funk and New Orleans jams. Raspy vocals, rollicking piano, and a corrupt horn section fuel an unorthodox mix of second line funk and Motown soul.
Not only is Taste of the Race South Walton’s top annual showcase of the local food scene, it is also the most democratic. After sampling as many tasty bites as they can handle, both guests and chefs are able to vote for the top dish of the night, a distinction that brings out the competitive side of every chef in town.
