Job Description
The Walton County Tourist Development Council is looking for someone with fresh ideas who is eager to take on a wide variety of graphic design, photography and video projects. The ideal candidate will help tell the Visit South Walton (VSW) brand story by creating visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate visitors. The Specialist will oversee all photographic and video assets, internal video production and local photography efforts for use in marketing materials, presentations, community relations programs, VSW events, web and social media efforts.

Job Responsibilities

Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the work load.

• Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, maintain use of the Visit South Walton Brand Standards, oversee brand consistency, maintain and back up digital assets/files and collaborate on the approval process for all in-house brand related materials produced on behalf of the Marketing, Sales, Communications, Beach Operations and Administration teams.
• Be proactive to recommend creative solutions to marketing, sales and communications creative projects.
• Support the TDC teams with creative graphic design, photo and video design/editing solutions for product launches, catalogs, website and sales presentations.
• Design and layout of electronic and print materials for programs and events including but not limited to collateral and newsletter production, digital, local advertising, exhibitions and displays, flyers, signs, posters, brochures, invitations, community newsletters and eNewsletters.
• Responsible for operating a camera to capture moments on film or to film people and places for various projects.
• Demonstrate creative ability with photography and related equipment.
• Photo retouching skills necessary.
• Develop videos that make an emotional connection with the VSW audience and are aligned with the value proposition.
• Capture and edit audio and video content for use in multiple platforms.
• Must be proficient in video production for web and social distribution. from beginning to completion including filming, lighting, ability to direct & work well with talent, script writing, recording voice overs, editing, add graphic elements, add background music & voice overs as necessary.
• Catalogue, save and maintain graphic design and photograph and video assets.
• Ability to work with printers/vendors to accurately describe product needs and secure at minimum three (3) vendor estimates for each project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Creative Services Specialist - • Ideal candidate should have solid creative skills and experience in the above described job responsibilities and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams.
• Requires formal graphic design training Using advanced techniques in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite and video editing software.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while remaining detail oriented.
• Knowledge of, or willing to lean about, the local tourism facilities, attractions, accommodations, restaurants, beach accesses, parks, meeting facilities, sporting and recreational opportunities, eco-tourism opportunities and special events to effectively promote Visit South Walton.
• Ability to understand and follow oral/written instructions and to exercise attention to detail in performing tasks.
• Must be a team player and willing to travel to various locations in Walton County to secure video footage and/or photograph content.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, courtesy, discretion, and initiative.
• Stay current on industry trends, competition and design standards.
• Maintains confidentiality in the workplace as required.
• Attend key industry meetings, TDC presentations and workshops as assigned.
• Must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and decision makers.
• May serve as part of the TDC team support for the Walton County Emergency Management Partners team to deliver emergency communications as needed when the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Adhere to work schedule and attendance requirements.


Qualifications, Training and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately-accredited college or university or design school preferred.
• Associates Degree in photography, film, art, graphic design or media studies from an accredited school is acceptable.
• Two-or-more years of experience in graphic design, photography or film & production are preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate a portfolio of design and website work.
• Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) or hospitality industry experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
