TDC Seeks Public Input on Inlet Beach Restrooms
Public Meetings to be Held August 13 and 14
At the July 10 Beach Management Committee meeting, the development plan was presented and discussion primarily focused on the building’s proximity to the road. The building will be similar to the recently completed Van Ness Butler Jr. Regional Beach Access with one major design change- the addition of solar panels. This will be the first TDC restroom facility that utilizes an alternative energy source.
The next meetings will be held on August 13 at 6 p.m. at the Rosemary Beach Town Hall Building and August 14 at 8:30 a.m. at the Coastal Branch Library. A plan for the facilities will be presented, followed by a question and answer session. The public is encouraged to attend and participate.
“It is important for the public to participate in the planning of this building,” said Dave Sell, beach maintenance manager in Beaches of South Walton. “This project has been in the works for many years, and we want to make sure that it meets the needs of the community and our visitors.”
The Inlet Beach Regional Beach Access is the County’s largest public beach access with more than 100 parking spaces and temporary portable restrooms. The new facilities will replace the portable restrooms and will help Beaches of South Walton obtain state funding toward the Phase II beach restoration project for the 30-A corridor.
