I need a little help. My son will turn 15 the end of Oct. We are having a halloween themed party (what a great time for a b.d.!). Approximately 20 14 - 16 yr. old boys and girls. No costumes (not cool, I was told), but there will be pizza, loud music, fire-pit outside, DDR inside, scarey movies on different t.v.'s, lots of decorations, etc. My question is, I need help on some great recipes for snacks/appetizers that teens like to eat. I keep asking my son and all he ever says is "chips & Skittles." (typical male answer) BUT, I want other ideas and wonder what teen girls like? HELP!!!

Thinking back a few years, I think your son may know exactly what the guys will eat, if anything. The girls will probably also be too nervous to eat. How about just having Pizza and a lot of candy? Everyone eats pizza. It is easy and cheap compared to busting your hump to cook.

At my birthday parties my mom would always order chicken fingers and hot wings from Chili's--my favorite place to eat. This went over well with everyone. Then she would make pig n' the blankets. There would be bowls of chips and assorted cookies and candies also. But the favorite thing is this cheese dip that she makes, which you can also order at Chili's, but they don't sale it with the party platters. Here's the recipe:

-1 can of Hormel Chili without beans
-Grated Velveeta Cheddar Cheese--without the peppers
-Milk

Heat the Chili in a large pan and add the cheese--as much as you like depending on taste, the milk is used to thin the dip, so add as much as you like depending on how thick or thin you want it to be.

Pour in a large bowl and serve with Tortilla chips.

The party will be blast, Enjoy!

Unfortunately, girls nowadays (at least these girls) aren't nervous!!!
Thanks for your advice. I don't really want to cook, but tho't something more than Skittles, cake and pizza might be a good idea.

Is it too kiddy-ish for teenagers? I don't have a teenager yet so I don't know. I make Bsmarts recipe all the time..it is a good cheese dip.
