A young man I used to know was in this same boat. He was 19 his girlfriend just turned 16. They had been together 2 years already.
She got pregnant. He got charged with Statutory Rape. He was branded a pedophile. He's not a pedophile, he's not attracted to children, he was with his girlfriend. And they are still together, 12 years and 3 kids later. She's 28, he's 31, but still has to register as a pedophile everytime he moves to a new neighborhood. The parents and neighbors shun him. He gets treated like dirt. He is NOT a pedophile. But branded as such for life. Nobody knows or cares what the true story is. :angry:
