Temporary Light at 83 & 98 Installation - No Left Turn

Temporary Restricted Median Scheduled for U.S. 98 at CR 83 in Walton County

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will temporarily restrict median access on U.S. 98 (State Road 30) at the intersection County Road (C.R.) 83 (Old Blue Mountain Road) in Walton County beginning 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17.

FDOT crews will install temporary curbing with reflective delineator posts in the median to allow Walton County personnel preparation time to install a temporary signal at the intersection. During the restriction, C.R. 83 and Old Blue Mountain Highway Road traffic will be prohibited from making left hand turns onto U.S. 98.

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling.

Is the "no left turn" going to be permenent or just until the light is installed? Talk about a mess if it is permenent! Think about turning around at the present turn around point and the caused traffic backup. The "problem solution" only makes the problem worse.

Well that is the craziest thing I ever heard, No left turn, really? why spend 150 K on a temporary light that doesn't allow left turn, since they closed the bridge on 30- A, for repairs I have to come thru 83, TURNING TO LEFT TO 98 IS so dangerous, the view gets block to turn to 98 when others drivers turn left towards 83.

DOT/SHERIFF DEPT, Please think about that, is okay to install a light but we need turn to left what is the point to have a traffic light if not going to solve the real problem, will cause delays and accidents.

No left turn was meant to be temporary. Maybe someone can update conditions?
