Because of a change in my planned vacation date, I recently had to rent a Gulf Trace house from an individual rather than through Rivard Realty (where I have always rented). Suffice it to say the house was a disaster and, on Wednesday, July 31st, I visited Rivard Realty to see if anything was available that I might get into for the balance of the week. Richard Veldman at Rivard was extraordinarily gracious listening to my story of woe. He found us a lovely Rivard home in Gulf Trace for my family to get into even foregoing Rivard's commission to help make it affordable for me. Thank you very much to Richard and all the good folks at Rivard for their help. I will never rent from anyone else.

That's great! I just left Walton County TDC meeting where Richard serves on the board - he is always looking out for our tax dollars. He's a good guy and also supports our website! So thanks also Richard!
Rob in your comments you act like you already knew that renting from individual would be a disaster. in last 4 yrs i've rented 10 times threw vrbo and all were indivduals were the service was incredible in all 10 places.matter fact many people would rather rent from an individual than a company as that person only has one home to worry about and wants to do an incredible job. Maybe you had a bad exp but theres 100's of thousands of individual listings on vrbo and many do a great job
I didn't get that at all - he said he had trouble and somebody helped hoim out. But I agree most rental owners want renters to have a good visit.
Thanks Evan for your comment as well as Truman for your response. My point was to thank the folks at Rivard for their help not cast dispersions on people who manage their own vacation rental property. Having dealt with owners before in other locations and been pleased, I agree most want their renters to have a good visit. Again, I was just grateful to Richard and his team for helping me salvage my vacation.
