On Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Walton County TDC hosted a community beach cleanup day to help keep our beaches clean and pristine. Supplies were provided at regional beach access locations: Van Ness Butler Jr., Dune Allen, Ed Walline, Blue Mountain, Inlet Beach, Gulf View Heights and Miramar Beach.
More than 23,000 items were collected during the 3 hour event with cigarette butts and food wrappers being the highest number of items picked up off of our beaches.
The TDC hosts this in conjunction with International Coastal Cleanup efforts every Fall.
