place you've ever slept?

(stolen from another board)

The best was a tempurpedic (sp?) bed.

The worst was the night I spent in a car with my mother and sister. Long story, and no we weren't homeless.

:floor:...my worst was the night we slept on a tempur-pedic bed.

Oh, my best night is always that first night in sowal.

the best: in the shade of an oak tree, on a hot summer day, as my dad mowed the nearby field surrounding me......the smell of the tractor's diesel exhaust, the rhythmatic sound of the tractor/mower, and the knowledge that my dad was nearby, was beyond soothing......

Love this!!

Best -- at both homes. Like sleeping on a cloud. Got the idea from The Maritim in Darmstadt. They have the best down comforters and pillows of any hotel at which we've stayed.

Worst -- on two small wooden arm chairs pushed together front-to-front while Mom was in the hospital in April. I'm 5'10" tall, and these two chairs totalled about 36 inches together. Much improved when sister bought a blowup mattress at Target and I brought down pillows from home. We don't have a Target here, so I didn't know about blowup mattresses.

on a 22-hour ride from the U.S. to Kenya, on an Air Force C-141 airplane, I slept atop the pallets of cargo for the sole reason of being closer to the heat source....we had no traditional airline seating, just nylon strap (parachute "jump") seats, with knees quite literally rubbing against the cargo (both human and physical). We were so happy being closer to the heat ducts, which kept up both warm, and (reasonably) comfortable.

Worst place was 25 years ago in Bali, long before it became an uber trendy place for the rich and famous to hang out. Oooooh what a miserable smelly unsanitary third world hostel that was, the stuff of nightmares! But on the other hand it was cheap and I was young.

Best place was in York England at the home of Merman's best friend from college. It was the first time I ever slept on a featherbed under an eiderdown quilt. It was soft and dreamy and Merman was a new husband at the time. All in all a very satisfactory arrangement.

best : in my tempurpedic - after the hubby has gone to work and i have the whole bed to myself

worst : i can't remember....

Best: First night of vacation in SoWal. Don't remember the brand of mattress. Don't care.

Worst: Back of ex's pick up truck/camper in Glen Rose, Tx. in April. I about froze to death that night. My son was about 5 then and he was dreaming of being Superman. He kept talking in his sleep about the phone booth.
