The power of Twitter amazes me.
Last spring someone on campus was on a bridge with a knife threatening to jump off and commit suicide. This was on Twitter before the police got there.
A car went off the 331 bridge yesterday. Someone was asking for info about it. After what happened last spring, I did a search yesterday on Twitter for "331 bridge." There were the tweets, including a link to the story on WJHG's website.
Then today our daughter was guaranteed a lens to be delivered today that she needs before she leaves early tomorrow for a wedding shoot in Philadephia. She waited until 11 AM. Still no delivery. She went to the UPS website. Today's UPS packages had already been delivered to her building. The website said, "The customer was not available on the 1st attempt. A 2nd attempt will be made tomorrow." Yet there was no note on her door, so he hadn't tried to deliver it.
She pitched a fit on Twitter. UPS heard about this through Twitter. Our daughter was contacted by UPS, and they made the truck come back. She said the delivery guy seemed angry.
Amazing.
