Going to admit upfront, I'm in a pizz ant mood this morning, the daughter will not get me cable internet...she is only allowing me dial up...so Sowal posters be aware...Grammy ain't edgy this AM.....she's just pizzed!

Don't you Dems have any other game plan other than always pointing to past events...when confronted... is that the # 1 talking point that Obama sends out in his daily talking points? Dem Spoon fed opinions ....must be true because you all do it. Bet many of you choke on some of them, that is if you still can think for yourself.

Grammy--please--take your meds.

I just finished reading all the posts. I don't get a sense that Obamunism has brought us all together yet.

You are a great one to be telling anybody to take their meds! You, like every other liberal on this board, have absolutely no inkling of what the Tea Party is all about nor how it functions. I am not going to try and explain it to you as I will assume that you are bright enough to research it for yourself. Suffice it to say that it stands for smaller government, less spending, common sense, moral values, states rights, individual responsibility and those kind of things with which you do not seem familar. It also includes fair taxation. Talking to you, LS, Poppy, AC and a few others is like talking to a brick wall. There are many on SoWal who are liberal but can listen and evaluate during the discussions. Then there are others who cannot. The same goes for conservatives but not so much because there are so few of them. I have kept quiet as long as I could regarding all the rhetoric that has transpired in this thread and at least one other regarding the Tea Party but I finally reached my limit. The Walton County Tea Party is called the Tea Party Patriots. If you really want to know what they are all about, instead of voicing unknowing opinions, attend one of their meetings at 6:00 PM at the South Walton Library annex on the 2nd Thursday of each month. You'll find people, much like you, interested in our community, state and federal government and how they are run.
One thing more. We are not racist. The Tea Party strongly supports Mike Hill, a candidate for the Florida House. He is a small business owner, an Air Force Academy graduate, a Conservative and he is black. He will make a wonderful representative.

Well if nothing else, the Tea Party puts Republicans on the defensive. I don't see how that could possibly be a good thing.

I join you & the Tea Party--in general--in support of smaller government, less spending, common sense, moral values, states rights, individual responsibility and those kind of things..." with the caveat that Sometimes government needs to be expanded for good & cogent reasons, & Sometimes government needs to spend more.

I hope you'd agree that cutting spending indiscriminately and/or reducing the size of government indiscriminately would not do.

I'm not for larger government for its own sake or because it is intrinsically better. I'm not for more spending for its own sake or because it's intrinsically better.

You & the Tea Party take a courageous stand in being for common sense, moral values, and individual responsibility--but, you know, I think you're right--I'm going to join you in supporting these things too--I don't care what my liberal friends might think!

Andy, thx for pointing out that not all liberals are identical. And thx for saying the same of conservatives. There were too many generalizations flying around.

I have a hard time believing that masses of people who voted for Obama last time around would vote for Palin this time around because they are disappointed with him.

If the GOP puts a solid candidate in there- a moderate then the independents and many dems will follow and he or she will likely win.

Talk to dems and independents who voted for Obama. I'd venture to guess the vast majority of them would cast their vote against Palin- which would count for Obama.

Today, I read that Obama would lose the election running against any republican. Independents, men and many democrats are deserting the ship. No presidential election can be won without the vote from men.

Yes it was disturbing enough that she might be one heartbeat away from the presidency. That was was enough to turn voters away from the McCain/Palin ticket.
