Did anyone else see this on PBS NOW last night?

Very interesting piece about development vs environment in a pristine creek/spring in Austin.
Reminded me of Sowal...particularly our coastal dune lakes. Also mentioned Karl Rove and GBush's involvement using politics of fear with the local property owners.

Makes one wonder...

Good witch. I am of the opinion that fear is used i all political arenas as a mean to either control or distract the general public from the fact that we have no say so whatsoever in the Federal Goverment's activities and it is really a machine for Big Business. CHOMSKY RULES!!

Thanks goodwitch. I would to catch this program. Also, IMHO, I agree with native about the fear factor. Some people control others through fear. :boxing: :nono1: It's just :sick: :sick: :sick: . There should be a law against that sheeet.
Isn't it a law now that they ask you if you are afraid of anybody at the doctor's office? I just thought of a good smart a$$ answer for that one. As wealthy as our country is, and as blessed as we are, it seems we would be more popular with our neighbors.

I didn't see this, but knowing Chomsky, he has zero credibility to criticize big business (he invests in oil companies, military contractors, pharmaceuticals, etc), using fear as a motivator, or property rights (he eschews intellectual property rights but threatens others if they reprint or copy his work).

Do any of you share his view on property rights, that ?When property rights are granted to power and privilege, it can be expected to be harmful to most?? Or that capitalism is a ?grotesque catastrophe??
