Wait for the shrimp boats to dock at the 331 bridge fill. Should happen in May. (Though I don't know if my fav gal will be helping her daddy sell shrimp this year - she was hurt in an accident several months ago.)
Edit - I've used the frozen bagged easy-peel shrimp at Publix twice now - once in a pasta and once in a Southern Living marinated shrimp recipe. Great results both times! For friends/family shrimp boils and frying shrimp, though, I will probably stick with fresh, local shrimp.

Dang, I was hoping you'd name one of the markets.
Maybe someone who crosses the 331 bridge frequently could post a heads-up. I don't need to go that way very often.
I'm thinking the chicken sale is for the Publix week starting today, as it sure as hail wasn't on sale last Saturday.
And shrimp from either Shrimpers or Goatfeathers is good too. In fact, GF steamed shrimp is to die for, and their cocktail sauce is worth the investment. An added benefit is that you don't have to take the heads off like you do when you buy them off the boat, so more actual shrimp per pound.
Of course, some people cook shrimp with the heads on. I do like to make an attempt to pull out the vein, though.

Chicken wasn't on sale friday or saturday - it was on Monday because I made a special trip to get it after Geo posted. No updates after that as I was getting tired of going to the grocery so much!
