Hi, Mango.......glad you enjoyed your visit to the Cape. Sorry you didn't get to see the whale babies...Great video clip though.......

I agree with you about the upper Cape Cod beaches...the national seashore is beautiful any time of the year. We love to go there in the fall.

I plan to go back to SoWal in November for my high school reunion ( I want say which one) and am dreading the trip because of the plane changes necessary. Unfortunately it is a quick visit and driving is out of the question. I am also terrified of flying out of Logan in Boston and now we have the issue of the problems in the Ted Williams Tunnel (2-ton panels falling off the ceiling...built by Bechtel by the way). That being the only way to Logan, I will be trying to fly out of Providence, RI, which will make connections even more difficult. If I can just get to Atlanta, I can rent a car and drive if I have to........Looks like for the forseeable future, will be driving down in the winter..........

I've heard ATL is a mess because of runway construction. One option is to fly direct to Orlando and then Orlando has jet service to the Panama City airport. I've had family members use this option when they've visited me from out west and it goes much more smoothly than flying through Atlanta.

ATL is a mess. I won't be flying through there for a very long time.

Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Thanks for the information about Atlanta. I usually fly detroit, memphis and then either PC or Fort Walton, whichever is less expensive at the time. At a minimum, it takes 8 hours to get from door to door and add an hour of grocery shopping on the way from the airport to the cottages... But it's worth it.

I, too, love the New England seaside. Maine is stunning -- cliffs, rocky shore, lobster... But the beaches in SoWal, even after a hurricane when the dunes are cliffs and the peat shows through the sand, are so soft, and white, and comfortable to walk on -- and the emerald color of the water... sigh...
