I feel concern for the reduction in visitors to our area if that is in fact the case; for whatever reason, the traffic in the Miramar and Destin areas has been more sparse than ever in the time I have been living back here. ...but:

For the first time in 10 years, I am able to enjoy running errands and shopping in Miramar/Destin in the summer...I am amazed at how uncrowded it has been for the last six weeks.

Three weeks ago, I was able to do something I have never done--in my entire life: I made a U-turn on Highway 98, at 2 pm on a Friday afternoon - in the middle of summer! There was not a car in sight in either direction. :yikes:

Not good for business I know; but, wonderful for this local who for 10 years would not venture past the Silver Sands Mall because of the unrelenting traffic.

Yes, the traffic has me worried about occupancy rates - normally I avoid using 30-A from memorial day to labor day because it takes forever.

It is wasn't for the stupid golf carts and people driving 15 miles below the speed limit you would think it was November.

Yeah, except for the 100 degree-plus temps and the humidity that must be off the charts!
