I feel concern for the reduction in visitors to our area if that is in fact the case; for whatever reason, the traffic in the Miramar and Destin areas has been more sparse than ever in the time I have been living back here. ...but:
For the first time in 10 years, I am able to enjoy running errands and shopping in Miramar/Destin in the summer...I am amazed at how uncrowded it has been for the last six weeks.
Three weeks ago, I was able to do something I have never done--in my entire life: I made a U-turn on Highway 98, at 2 pm on a Friday afternoon - in the middle of summer! There was not a car in sight in either direction.
Not good for business I know; but, wonderful for this local who for 10 years would not venture past the Silver Sands Mall because of the unrelenting traffic.
