well, we worked the songwriters festival, are home now and decided to get takeout somewhere in or near blue mountain beach. mctigues caught fire, ken's bistrot is closed, amore's message on their phone says they are reopening january 14th during the festival but no one answers, gravel road and subway moved, beach bar is closed, etc. got ballyhoo's so we're going to eat but it's kind of ridiculous! maybe i just forgot how dead it is in january around here but i would think with the festival, there would be some people wanting to take advantage of the activity.

If a restaurant is closed during this time of year then they are not going to open up for one week or a weekend. We have returned to a seasonal rental economy as it was 10+ years ago. At that time there were only a few places open in the off season. I'm glad you found Ballyhoo's. Places which are open need our support!
just had a great meal at Enzo's on 393...they do take-out too.
Try Sally's Backside. Its reasonable and always good.
It's a couple more miles West, but there is a great Chinese and a great Mexican restaurant right near Bayou Bill's that both do take-out.
when i asked ballyhoo's if they had a takeout menu, they said "sort of" and handed me a very skimpy menu that said "new years". i wasn't sure if it was their new years eve menu or just a menu for the new year! she did say they were working on their menu which, i guess, you would do off season. i'm all about supporting our local businesses but you have to be open for me to support you!! amore's said on their message they would be open beginning jan. 14th for the 30 songwriter's festival but were not. not sure what happened but love their chicken sandwich!
I think Basmati is open and does take out (correct me if I am mistaken)
JC's Off the Hook (Old Nick's on 30-A) is open & has great food. Their prices are reasonable too. Not sure if they do take-out - but most places do. Check them out - you'll be glad you did.
