My limited memory says a typhoon is the same as a hurricane except it rotates clockwise instead of counter clockwise. ?????

I seem to recall the difference being the origin in which the storms are formed; ie- Atlantic Ocean vs Pacific O.

That would not explain the counter clockwise motion of these two storms vs. the counter clockwise motion of our Hurricanes. I think you get the clockwise motion from storms forming south of the Equator.

But what are the storms called over in the Pacific by Mexico and Hawaii? Are those typhoons? Is it southern and northern hemispheres for the rotation? I am so confused ..... but that's okay!

A tropical cyclone in the Southern Hemisphere (if they had them) would rotate clockwise. Just like flushing toilets do down there. :clap_1:

Which way do spiral galaxies rotate? Do they rotate differently in different parts of the cosmos?

I don't think there is a clockwise or counter clockwise in the cosmos. It would vary based on your reference point. In the open universe, there is no North, South, East or West.
