On October 17th the sheriff was notified that HR director had potentially committed insurance fraud. This was not a large amount, 300.00 dollars for listing a dependent that did not qualify. Not until late November was she put on PAID administrative leave with full salary and full benifits.

Is it unusual that it happened after Mrs. Jones ws investigated for mistreatment of employees and Ella Mae was called to be interviewed by the attorney Walton County hired to investigate Mrs. Jones. Also is the rumor true that County manager wanted to allow Ella Mae to pay back the money and to not be turned over to the sheriff?

Does Ella Mae know too much and therefore needed to go in such a way no one would ever believe anything she said. Suspended with full pay??????? If it looks like a cover up it usasually is in Walton County.

Big question is the employee who stole paving from the county to pave his driveway receiving full pay or was he fired or suspended with pay. You just can not make this up.

Cecilia it was good to be the queen for 1 year now we shall see. You just ccan not make this up. Ella Mae was a good employee but my guess is she just did not play along.

Asphalt Walters was terminated. He was terminated immediately. The question would be why she was not terminated immediately as well??

HR Director hired Asphalt Walters with no background check. Also hired the guy fired from WCFR under WCSO the same day he was fired.

So if I steal $300 and set up one of my crew to take the fall I am a good employee? Paid administrative leave? This $80K a year thief will be reinstated. Great tool to attract and keep desireable employees. Great behavior for other employees to model. What about the woman she set up? Does she have to work for the thief again? Smells like a lawsuit coming on if that happens. And it's so great she will be around to recommend discipline or termination for others who break the law, don't YOU think? Ha!
Time to look for LJones and Sucday to do the right thing but let's not hold our collective breath. Hell, the county worker who was living with the county worker who stoled the boat from the cty storage area and tried to sell it on EBAY kept her job in public works though she knew her guy stole it and knew he bragged about it to me. He got to resign and not face charges from the SO or BCC so this one will to. The last hr lady used to be my neighbor. Good people. Smart lady. She was in charge of risk and safety besides HR and was paid a lot less, was suspended with no pay for a week she said, because she was filling out a complaint against the BCC during her lunch. A little later when she came back to work after going to a family funeral she got layed off. Feel bad for her but not this one. Glad I moved to P'cola but wondering if it was far enough. Too bad. Walton is gorgeous. Both ends. Still spend lots of time there. Lot's of good people. BCC Gov though admin especially frick and frack is a rotting corpse as they will prove when the thief is returned to her job with a pat on her fanny.

I am seeing the papers on the HR Manager but where is the one on the truck driver? Am I missing it? I would assume it is the same for him. Usually when there is an investigation the person is on paid admin leave until the investigation us over and someone is found guilty.

There isn't one, he was terminated immediately.

If he was fired there would still be a personnel action with a termination date. There has to be paperwork. I still dont think he was fired or there would be paperwork.

You can do a public record request for his paper work from the county attorney. I did the one for Ella Mae’s.
