Hello sowal locals,

I am from out of the area but am planning to take my lady on a romantic weekend trip. I'd like to stay in the northern half of FL for easier driving distances. I read some nice things about Grayton Beach and found a bed and breakfast there that looks decent. Also, it seems like the Grayton Beach State Park is quite nice. So I'd like to ask some locals: Is this a nice beach? What else is there to do around Grayton? (Enough to stay busy throughout the weekend?) Any other recommendations for a romantic get-away that includes a relatively quiet/private beach in the area, and some nice views/scenery?

Thanks!

You couldnt have picked a better spot! The most amazing beaches and resturants that range from upscale to fun and funky. All within walking distance from the one B&B that I know of in Grayton.

Hibiscus Coffee and Guesthouse in Grayton Beach is so great. And the cabins at Grayton Beach State Park are super cheap and very clean. And they are very private. You can't go wrong either way. Have fun!

Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
For romance, go to Cafe Tango because it's near Grayton Beach. Quiet, small, romantic little restaurant nestled in the native trees and has excellent food (yummy duck...). It's our favorite place to go for a romantic evening. Pricey but worth it. Call and make reservations, and you could ask for a table on the porch (it has windows and isn't open-air so it's nice in the cooler weather). Cafe 30 is very nice, too - busier and not tucked away like Cafe Tango is, but we usually go there as well (and to George's at Alys Beach). Of course, there's more to do in the area than eat, but eating is wonderful there.
