Beach Operations Director Brian Kellenberger recently
shared current information about numerous ongoing projects at a Tourist
Development Council (TDC) meeting.

For instance, at the Seagrove Regional Beach
Access (RBA), Director Kellenberger explained
that a contract was awarded to GLC Contracting,
Inc., for $4,029,787.

Shown right, construction began last July and is
expected to be completed this fall. This facility
will provide 23 needed parking spaces, with
dedicated parking for ADA and bicycles. It will
also feature a 1,011-square-foot breezeway style
restroom facility that mirrors those at the Inlet
Beach RBA and Dune Allen RBA, and a
boardwalk with an ADA-accessible dune
walkover.

The Headland Avenue Neighborhood Beach
Access (NBA) is under construction. This project
was awarded to 3 Rivers Construction Co. LLC, in December 2024 for $731,500.
This neighborhood beach access project involves adding stormwater drainage
along a portion of CR 30A and Montgomery Street, resurfacing a portion of
Headland Avenue. Kellenberger said the project includes construction of a
sidewalk, boardwalk, dune walkover, and concrete landing pad with connectivity to
the multi-use path. Construction began in January 2025 and should be completed
by the end of May.

Kellenberger then updated the TDC regarding the One Seagrove NBA Renovation
Project. This project was also awarded to 3 Rivers Construction Co. LLC in
December 2024 for $455,463.
Renovations include the removal of the
existing dune walkover and
construction of a new ADA-accessible
dune walkover, as well as the
replacement of portions of the existing
concrete sidewalk, including additional
outdoor rinse showers.
Construction began in February and
should be completed this month.

Kellenberger also discussed a major project, the Grayton Beach Community
Center. The project was awarded to JM Phelps Construction, LLC., in October
2024 for $4,262,943.
This 1,600-square-
foot building will
house a local
information station,
restrooms, an
observation deck,
and access to our
transit shuttle. The
project also includes
resurfacing
DeFuniak Street and
the creation of boardwalks linking the facility to Grayton Beach, Garfield Street
and Banfill Street. Construction began in April 2024 and is expected to take
approximately 12 months to complete.
