Burn Ban remains in effect.

Due to the significant number of outside fire responses this weekend, we would like to take the time to remind everyone that the countywide burn ban is still in effect. With the exception of cooking using an enclosed gas or charcoal grill, burning is not allowed.

Please contact your local fire district if you have any questions.

COUNTYWIDE BURN BAN EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!
The Walton County Board of County Commissioners, Florida has issued a burn ban for ALL of Walton County effective Wednesday, November 1.

This action comes as a direct result of the ongoing elevated wildfire danger in our area from significant drought conditions, as well as the low probability of rainfall in the long-range forecast models.

Under the burn ban, outdoor burning is illegal and anyone in violation of the ban could face criminal charges and fines. This also means beach bonfire permits are suspended until this county-wide ban is rescinded.

South Walton Fire District is working closely with our countywide partners to monitor the weather conditions. We are ready to respond to any emergencies and ask you to do your part to prevent wildfires. DO NOT BURN OUTDOORS!
