Public Comments:

The Walton County School System is charged and our teachers are responsible for creating a learning environment in an ethical setting and are also charged to do no harm.

Moral character is the existence or lack of virtues such as integrity, courage, fortitude, honesty and loyalty. In other words, it means that you're a good person and a good citizen with a sound moral compass. Moral character requires individuals to act on their moral convictions. Every day we face a host of moral and ethical issues and it's how we respond to them as individuals that determines our true character.

Like all governing boards the School Board is bound by a Code of Ethics one of which states; Members must be aware of the importance of maintaining the respect and confidence of ones colleagues, of students, of parents and of other members of the community, the Educator strives to achieve and sustain the highest degree of Ethical Conduct.

How do you build or maintain respect and confidence in your community when your life has become a shambles? How does a governing board make decisions for 9,357 students if your personal life is a quandary of lies, adultery, deceit and deception? How can one have ethical standards in their professional life but not hold themselves to those same standards in their personal life? The answer is, YOU CAN’T!

Our children who attend schools in Walton County are governed by a Code of Conduct right down to the clothes they wear. Everything they do at school is monitored by teaching professionals, paraprofessionals, counselors and their own peers. Negative behaviors result in disciplinary actions up to and including expulsion. Why is it then, that we hold our children to a higher standard of conduct than we do for ourselves or our elected leaders? The answer is we shouldn’t. To do so makes us hypocrites.

Tonight, I’m here to ask the Walton County School board to call for the resignation of Bill Eddins Jr. for conduct unbecoming an elected official and restore the respect and confidence of this Community for our school system which, has been lost because of his actions.

Thank You

Like they addressed Bill Eddins? Don't hold your breath!

Now we are actually losing kids to other areas...
From the Article:
"Rivers said she resigned from Mossy Head School on May 24 and moved to Santa Rosa County so Baylee could attend school in another district."

I don't think these are NEW problems. They are most likely systemic from the past Administration (The Queen), which I've been very critical of. Remember Cocaine Teacher on Felony Probation at SoWal HS?

Bullying at schools is also something that they don't want you to know about....

When a County continues to elect and re-elect the same ole same ole, and never addresses issues from previous administrations...what do you expect?

When we fail as a Community to hold elected officials accountable, its our fault. Having a PD that sucks doesn't help or a WC Sheriff who turns the other cheek doesn't help either and don't even get me started on the State Attorney.

This county is a cesspool of corruption.
