NYE as a visitor, yet felt like a Local!
We went to Marie's Bistro with some friends of ours that are local. I quickly learned why they chose to ring in the new year here! From the moment we step foot on those steps we were greeted with a warm smile and hugs to our friends (at this point I've realized how often they come!) After we got through the reservation formalities and were seated, we dive into our menu and did I grow hungry quick! Everything sounded so amazing. I ordered the Cobia, my friend the Snapper, and the guys went for the Tenderloin. Our dishes came with our choice of soup or salad AND dessert! The soup du jour was Crab Bisque which was nicely balanced (rich but not too rich) and the NYE salad was made of artisanal mixed greens and had mandarin oranges and with a vinaigrette.Okay so for the main course - My Cobia. I'm telling you what. It was something you'd only have to try yourself, the cream sauce (there are not words) and they certainly don't skimp on the portions. Each of our dishes had a veg. medley and a starch (rice or potatoes). We each traded off a bite and although I loved my Cobia, I'd happily come back for the Snapper or the Tenderloin or just the lobster that came with the Tenderloin (or just the sauce that came on top of my Cobia - give me a bowl of that and some bread and I'm good to go!) For Dessert I had the Bananas Foster, my pal had the Crepes and the guys had the Chocolate Mousse Pie. All of them were amazing - if I had more room, I woulda licked my ice cream cup clean! Are you still with me?, 'Cuz our night at Marie's Bistro doesn't end there! After we left and came back there was a DJ set up and playing music! We danced the night away and when the clock neared midnight, the kind wait staff served everyone a glass of champagne - on the house! How kind was that! I know it's a small gesture, but it was certainly not lost on me!
Thank You Marie's Bistro! You really hosted a beautiful evening.
