I got lost while driving today and noticed these flowers on the side of the road. I have never seen any like them before. They look beautiful and smell terrible. The many stamens were covered by the center dome shaped petal. Because the pollen is so hard to access I was wondering if it is carnivorous? Can anyone tell me what they are? Thanks!

The pollen is hard to access because the flower hasn't yet opened. You are correct, though, about the plants being carnivorous. They are Pitcher Plants. The photo of the flower you took is the flower of the pitcher plant. If you look closely in the background of your photos, you will see the actual pitchers of the plants.
