I don't keep up with how budgets are separated and all the little bean counting details. It seems to me that teachers are getting the shaft at the expense of somebody's pet projects. Can somebody answer the question about the actual cost of the football field? And how about the hiring of teachers as independent contractors. Is this the way all new teachers are hired in Walton County? I understood that there is a collective bargaining agreement yet Walton Schools seems to be bypassing that. The union must be like the school board, merely a symbolic gesture. I wonder that would happen if the school district in Miami-Dade tried to hire teachers like hotels hire illegal aliens for housekeepers.
