Tony Lyin Sack of Somethin paying lip service, talking about all that BP has done and will do to "make it right". How he and BP care about the Gulf Coast and have imobilized booms and boats to protect and clean up. I need to go to the smokin, drinking and cussing thread after seeing that.

It's interesting that they can't pay out claims in time to prevent layoffs, firings, and bankruptcies, but man that PR machine sure swung into action and got those ads out.

I personally find it offensive that the Walton Sun would accept blood money to run that ad. I would urge other advertisers who will probably need the cash to pull their ads from the Walton Sun.

While in SC last week I heard several adds on the radio pleading for tourists to continue to come to the northwest beaches of florida....How stupid was I to think it was more than just a PR campaigne...I was taken by surprise....

I've seen it a couple of times. They are also well-versed in which channels to advertise as well as time of day.

It's warm, fuzzy dookie.

There was another locally published magazine I'm not giving out the name of that just recently ran an article for another part of the country describing how wonderful their area was for tourists. I was even more shocked that a local magazine allowed that to be run

So glad they had a contingency plan for the media.

Shame they aren't as good at stopping/cleaning up oil spills.

And it cost them $50 million. Needless to say spending that money on actions and not on words would have been better PR.
