I'm renting a house in Grayton from a management company which is charging tax on EVERYTHING including the reservation fee insurance and cleaning!!!!!!! This seems outrageous to me! What is customary? I thought you'd onlly charge tax on the rental fee.

My understanding of the law is that tax is supposed to be charge on all fees that are not electable by the tenant, ie, cleaning and whatever else you're paying.
Maybe you are confused because some agencies/owners build in the cleaning fees etc. to the rental rate, not add it separately.
